The Fresh Outpouring Encounter seeks to see Jesus high and lifted up in our city and people who feel far from God come into their identity in Jesus Christ and who HE says they are…..REDEEMED, DELIVERED, FREE from the chains that have bogged them down and stripped them of everything they are mentally, emotionally, physically, and most important spiritually. We understand and take notice of 2 enemies warring against Gods people, the adversary and themselves. The church needs to understand they are redeemed by the blood of Jesus, his ever changing love for them, and his power.
Joshua chapter 6 outlays our mission. As we look at Joshua chapter 6 we see a man of God in charge of leading Gods people to the promise land. In this chapter we see something in their way blocking them from the promised land and deliverance over bondage they once knew so well. A heavily fortified city with menacing walls guarding it and giants in the middle of the city. God gave the marching orders to eradicate this obstacle. The plan was simple but must’ve sounded crazy, march around the walls and give a shout of praise. It was to simple. They followed Gods command and the walls of the city were made low and crumbled leaving the giants within the city exposed and the Children of Israel took their authority and obliterated the giants.
Winston Salem is surrounded by the same heavily fortified walls and giants with in the city. Our adversary has built these walls guarding the giants within. Our giants we deal with look a little different but giants none the less. Homelessness, addiction, racial tensions, human trafficking are just a few of these giants. In addition on a more personal level we all have giants in our life the enemy has kept guarded with these walls. These personal giants are hopelessness, lovelessness, no peace, no joy, depression, anxiety, hurt, regret, failures, brokenness, bitterness, anger, grief, and so much more. The internal giants lead to the external ones: addictions and so much more. We believe both WILL BE ERADICATED. The walls will come down over our city and with everyone in attendance. How?
3 Things that we learn from Joshua Chapter 6:
- A shout and Praise.
We believe by obediance through faith with our weapon of praise these walls will be made low and our enemies eradicated.
It’s that easy. Will you believe? Will you be obedient to show up and praise?
